Administrative Office - The Administrative Office is under the direction of the Village Administrator. The Village Administrator is responsible to the Village Board for the proper administration of the day-to-day operation of the Village. In addition, the administrator prepares the Annual Budget, Compiles agenda for the Village Board and Committees. The Administration Department handles and coordinates with clerical staff Freedom of Information requests, public information activities, and general inquiries to Village services. All other departments report to the Administrator. Department of Finance - The Finance Department is responsible for managing the fiscal operations of the Village. Responsibilities include supervising the Village´s investments, monitoring cash flow and recording and reporting all financial transactions. The finance department oversees the yearly audit and assists in preparations for the annual budget and tax levy. Building Department - The Building Department is under the direction of the Building Official. The department issues building permits, provides inspectional services and enforces the historic preservation ordinance. The Department also, enforces the International Building Code and provides support for the planning and zoning board. Police Department - The Police Department is located in the same building as the East Dundee Village Hall, at 120 Barrington Ave. Office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and the number is 847-428-4034. If you need police assistance after hours, you may dial 847-428-8784 or go to the blue phone marked 911 on the east side of the Village Hall building, which will immediately connect you with a dispatcher. For emergencies, dial 911. Public Works - The Public Works Department is comprised of ten employees and three divisions. Each Division contains a Superintendent and a mix of two operators and/or maintenance workers. The three Divisions are overseen by the Director of Public Works. The Public Works Department provides a variety of services for the residents of East Dundee. For example, the Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Village´s buildings, equipment, public grounds, street system, storm water system, potable water system, and the wastewater system.
