VILLAGE HALL The Arlington Heights Village Hall is located at its temporary location, 3436 N. Kennicott Avenue until the new village hall is completed in 2008. Our main number is 847.368.5000. Village Hall hours are Monday thru Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. The Village Hall is closed on the following legal holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
BOARD MEMBERS & TRUSTEES Arlington Heights Village Board members are elected at large on a non-partisan basis, and they serve as the community´s decision-makers. The Village Board members are composed of eight trustees, and one Village President, who is our Mayor, Arlene Mulder.
DEPARTMENT SERVICES Building The Building Department focuses on three major areas in the Village: inspections, compliance and fire protection services.
Engineering The Engineering Department is responsible for planning, designing and inspecting construction of public improvements in the Village.
Finance The Finance Department provides financial management for the Village and oversees the Information Technology Division, which is responsible for managing computer systems for the Village; and the GIS Division.
Fire The Fire Department, which started as a volunteer Fire Department and has served the public for over 100 years, provides the Village with fire and paramedic services. There are four fire stations within the Village.
Health Human & Disability Services Health Services addresses the physical, environmental and social needs of the community. The Department oversees the operations of the Village´s Teen Center and Senior Center.
Human Resources Human Resources administers the Village´s personnel program including recruitment, testing, selection, maintenance of the classification and pay plans, management of employee benefit programs and the Workers´ Compensation Program.
Legal The Legal Department provides legal advice to Village staff with respect to the formulation, implementation and enforcement of applicable code provisions.
Manager's Office The Village Manager's Office administers the Village Government and is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all departments, and overseeing both internal and external communication. Programmatic responsibilities also include the parking system and liquor licenses.
Planning & Community Development The Planning Department provides professional and technical assistance regarding planning, zoning and subdivision matters. The Department also administers various grant programs, formulates policies affecting the Village´s overall development, and monitors community and economic development.
Police The Police Department, which has been in service for over 100 years, provides police protection of the community including patrol operations, investigation services, crime prevention and limited animal control.
Public Works Public Works maintains all municipally owned streets and sidewalks, trees and landscaping, water and sewer systems, buildings and grounds, street lights and traffic signals, and provides other necessary services such as street sweeping, snow removal and ice control. |
