McHenry County is a Community rich in history, tradition, and cultural diversity. In the late 1800's McHenry was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Today McHenry County is among the fastest growing counties in the state.
In September 1995, the McHenry County Board approved the creation of the Human Relations Council as a viable means to foster ethnic diversity, promote religious harmony, encourage the understanding of the physically challenged, and actively seek the quality of life guaranteed in our Constitution, for all people.
